2017 Mid Maryland Mission Of Mercy and Health Equity Festival
The 2017 Mid Maryland Mission of Mercy and Health Equity Festival was held at the Xfinity Center on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland from September 7-10, and was a huge success. Dr. Victor R. Siegel was honored to be on the Dental Organizing Committee and provided clinical services at the event. As a member of the Dean's Faculty of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Siegel was able to arrange for the use of the school's Cerec equipment so as to provide same day crown restorations to patient's in need. In all, about 31 crown restorations were place during the two clinical days of the MOM.
Pictured here is Dr. Siegel designing a ceramic crown utilizing Cerec computer assisted design and computer assisted manufacture (CAD/CAM) technology as two University of Maryland School of Dentistry dental students, who volunteered as dental assisitants, look on. "It happened to be the patient's birthday", stated Dr. Siegel, "so after the crown was placed we all sang Happy Birthday, followed by tears of happiness and hugs all around".
